HTML 5 Tutorial Part 1: Welcome to the world of HTML 5

Hi Guys,

I am starting a new series of tutorials. It's all about HTML 5 markup language. If you are into web technologies this will be very exciting for you. You can do loads of exciting stuff using HTML 5.

HTML 5 what's new ?:

  • New HTML elements.
  • New attributes for elements.
  • CSS 3 support.
  • Embed Audio & Video Features easily.
  • 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional graphic support. Yes, you can do animations using jquery :-)
  • Local Storage
  • Local SQL Database
  • Exciting web applications support.

HTML 5 Playground Setup:

You need one of the below browser to play with the HTML 5. Most preferred one is google chrome.

  • Google Chrome Web Browser 10 + Version
  • Firefox 3.6 +
  • Safari 4 +
  • Internet Explorer 9 +

Optionally local web server like apache. If you are using windows install wamp. If you are using linux use apache. Google to install apache in your localhost.

I will be using linux through out my tutorials in future.

Why HTML 5:

  • Rich internet applications.
  • Search Engine Friendly.
  • Specifies Scripting API's
  • Lots of flexibility.
  • Graphics Support.

Let's do some Hello Wolrd stuff in HTML 5 in my next tutorial !
